Dormaahene: Otumfour cannot appoint a paramount chief at Fiapre

Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II expressed strong disapproval and issued a firm warning during the one-year anniversary of Dumasua Nkosouhene, held today.

In his address, Dormaahene made it clear that, as the President of the Bono House of Chiefs, he will not allow Otumfour to appoint a paramount chief at Fiapre without his approval.

His statement underscores the ongoing tensions within the chieftaincy institution, emphasizing his unwavering stance on the matter. “As long as I remain the President of the Bono House of Chiefs, Otumfour cannot appoint a paramount chief at Fiapre without my approval,” Dormaahene declared.

In a bold move, Dormaahene asserted that he would defy any court ruling that opposes his stance. “Even if a court rules otherwise, I will disobey the ruling and accept the consequences by going to jail,” he stated firmly, demonstrating his readiness to face legal repercussions to uphold his authority.

This declaration has sent ripples through the traditional leadership circles and is likely to provoke further discussions and potential confrontations.

The issue at hand not only highlights the complexities of chieftaincy matters in Ghana but also the strong-willed nature of Dormaahene in protecting his jurisdiction and authority.
