Do you want to mark both the WASSCE and BECE? Then, you can follow these instructions to apply to be an assistant examiner.

A first degree in a topic related to the one you studied, or its equivalent, is required of applicants. The minimum post-teaching experience requirement for examiners applying to mark the WASSCE is two years, preferably in a senior high school. If you want to apply to mark BECE, you must have basic school teaching experience.

As long as you are competent in that field, marking both the BECE and WASSCE is a simple task when teaching at the SHS. Bring the credentials and the completed form to the marking center for sighting, attach photocopies. There must be a letter from your current job attesting to your good character since you must be a person of great integrity.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE IN GHANA

  1. BECE

A post-secondary teachers’ credential from accredited colleges of education or other institutions along with at least five (5) years of teaching experience in the pertinent topics after receiving the degree.

Holders of diplomas and degrees must have earned degrees in the subjects they intend to grade and must have taught those subjects for at least three (3) years.

  • WASSCE, GBCE, AND ABCE

Degrees in the subjects applied for obtained from recognized universities or institutions with a minimum of three years post-qualification teaching experience in the subjects.

Those applying for Literature-in-English for WASSCE must be familiar with the set books being used now for the subject.

Applicants must, in addition, be computer literate (at least, be capable of using word processing programs). They must also have demonstrated the ability to be thorough and accurate in their work and be able to meet target dates. Their integrity must be unquestionable.

HOW TO APPLY

On the website www.waecgh.org, intending examiners can submit their information in order to mark WAEC scripts. If the information given is inaccurate, the examiner will be disqualified. Successful candidates would typically receive invitation via SMS. Nonetheless, Nigerian applicants can go to the official page to verify the status of their invitation and determine whether they have been selected for the specific marking activity.

You can print your invitation letter and edit the information about examiner. Examiners must update their contact information.

Staff at marking centres can upload examiner details during coordination and marking activities.

APPOINMENT TERMS

Successful candidates will receive temporary appointments. They will be invited for no longer than three weeks at a time to participate in the marking tasks and other relevant activities. The job given to each examiner must be completed and duly submitted to the council within the time frames specified. The appointment letters that will be given to them for each marking session will also include remuneration.
