There were tears and deep sorrow at Anloga EP Basic School as pupils and teachers gathered to bid farewell to two of their colleagues who tragically lost their lives following a bee attack on the school premises.

In a heart-wrenching moment during the burial ceremony, students of the school were led through a symbolic last roll call to honour the deceased pupils. As their names were called, classmates responded with trembling voices, many unable to hold back tears, creating an emotional atmosphere that left mourners in deep reflection.

The tragic incident, which occurred during school hours, shocked the entire Anloga community and sparked widespread grief among parents, educators, and residents.

The incident has reignited calls for enhanced emergency preparedness and environmental safety in basic schools, particularly in areas prone to natural hazards. Many parents are urging the Ghana Education Service (GES) and local authorities to assess school environments to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

As the community mourns, prayers were offered for the bereaved families, with appeals for psychological support for pupils and teachers affected by the traumatic event.

The final roll call ended in silence; an echo of two young voices that will forever be missed at Anloga EP Basic School.
