44 countries Ghanaian passport holders can enter visa-free

According to the Visa Index portal, ordinary Ghanaian passport holders are eligible for visa-free travel to 65 countries, although there are three categories of visa-free travel.

a. 44 nations allow Ghanaian passport holders to travel without a visa.

b. 19 nations = Ghanaians are granted a visa upon arrival

c. Passport holders from Ghana are entitled to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for two countries.

Ghanaians are no longer required to have a visa in order to enter South Africa, but those who plan to remain longer than three months must apply. This regulation was implemented last year.

The nations listed above are all free from visa requirements for nationals of Ghana.

It is crucial to understand, nonetheless, that each country’s visa policies will determine how long Ghanaian nationals may remain and what can be done during their travels.

The portal further stated that holders of Ghanaian passports must confirm whether a visa is needed for stays longer than permitted or for purposes not covered by the destination country’s visa waiver policy.
