Win up to Ghs15,000 at the second edition of the Inter-Tertiary Business Challenge
The annual Inter-Tertiary Business Challenge is back with the University of Ghana Economics Students Society. The Inter-Tertiary Company Challenge aims to give young leaders with promising business ideas seed money and start-up assistance. With the help of this initiative, we hope to catalyze entrepreneurship and leave a lasting legacy.
KEY OBJECTIVES
• Provide funding opportunities to develop great ideas into fruition.
• To connect entrepreneurs with investors and build an angel investor community.
• Build an ecosystem of entrepreneurial collaborations and support networks.
• Provide entrepreneurs with diverse business skills to sustain their businesses.
• Bridge the gap between entrepreneurs within various universities across the nation.
FOCUS
The competition will concentrate on industries that can provide jobs for young people with innovative, successful, and sustainable business strategies. Businesses with a strong value proposition and a focus on technology will receive special attention. Businesses who consider partnerships, relationships, and the exploitation of current business models will be rewarded. Businesses should concentrate on the private sector. BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION
Individuals/Teams are challenged to conceive new services or product offerings and create business plans aimed at convincing a three-person jury of business professionals.
•Shortlisted applicants would be invited to make a virtual business plan pitch to the three-person jury, where the delegates’ votes would help to determine a winner.
•A comprehensive, feasible, and viable business plan is key.
•Creativity is essential; which can also consist of innovative ways of improving existing businesses.
We successfully had our first inter-tertiary entrepreneurship challenge which met massive publicity and commendation across the entire university body including participants from various universities across Ghana i.e., Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, University of Cape Coast, Central University, and the University of Ghana.
This second edition promises to give the winner, the first runner-up, and the 2nd runner-up of the inter tertiary Business Challenge, a seed capital in cash prize ranging from Ghc15000 to Ghc5000, one year of mentorship, and potential investment.
