Viral KNUST SHS Video Sparks Public Outrage and Calls for Arrest

A disturbing video involving a young man and a female student from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Senior High School (KNUST SHS) has sparked widespread outrage across social media platforms, prompting calls for swift justice and disciplinary action.
The footage, which has been circulating on various platforms including Snapchat, reportedly shows the young man engaging in an intimate act with the female student inside what appears to be a guest house. According to emerging reports, the act was allegedly recorded without the girl’s consent and later shared by the male involved, leading to its rapid and uncontrolled spread online.
The video has provoked anger and concern among Ghanaians, with many social media users condemning the act as a violation of the young girl’s dignity and privacy. Users are calling for the immediate arrest of the male involved and demanding that the authorities—particularly the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Education Service (GES)—take decisive action to ensure justice is served.
Child rights advocates and educators have also joined the chorus of condemnation, warning of the long-term psychological and social impact such incidents can have on victims. They have urged the public to refrain from sharing or downloading the video, emphasizing that such actions constitute an additional breach of privacy and may attract legal consequences.

The Ghana Education Service is expected to launch an investigation into the incident, while the police are being urged to track down the perpetrators and collaborators responsible for the video’s circulation.
This incident adds to growing concerns about the misuse of social media among young people and the need for stronger education on digital ethics, consent, and respect for privacy. Many are calling for schools to intensify guidance and counseling efforts to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
As the public awaits official responses from law enforcement and educational authorities, the focus remains on protecting the identity and well-being of the female student, ensuring she receives the necessary psychological and legal support.
Authorities have reiterated that the distribution of explicit content involving minors is a serious offense under Ghanaian law and have urged the public to report any related materials to the police rather than share them further.
