Teacher Unions agree on 15% COLA

Following a series of agitations from the Teacher Unions in Ghana, they have agreed on a 15% cost of living allowance (COLA) from government.

The meeting was held between the Teacher Unions and government, represented by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), Ministry of Finance (MoF), Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), Ministry of Education and Ministry of National Security.

Per the agreement, teachers will receive 15% COLA effective 1st July, 2022. Hence all industrial actions will be called off and teachers will resume work forthwith.
