SHS Teachers Hospitalised After Violent Thug Attack on School Campus
A disturbing incident has been reported at West Africa Senior High School in Adenta, where several teachers were allegedly attacked by suspected thugs following a confrontation involving students from Frafraha Community Day SHS.
Incident Occurred During School Hours
According to reports, the incident happened on Thursday, February 13, 2026, during normal school hours. Staff members stationed near a school block known as the “18 Units” reportedly received information that some students believed to be from Frafraha Community Day SHS had entered one of the classrooms at West Africa Senior High School.
Teachers reportedly moved to the classroom to ask the visiting students to leave and return to their school. However, the situation escalated when the students allegedly became confrontational and attempted to physically fight the teachers. Two additional teachers reportedly joined to support their colleagues, after which the visiting students left the premises.
Armed Thugs Returned to Attack Teachers
Later the same day, at about 4:30 pm, the situation reportedly took a more violent turn when motorcycles carrying suspected thugs arrived at the school. The assailants allegedly rushed into the compound and attacked teachers, hitting them on their heads with sticks and leaving some of them severely injured.

Growing Concern Over External Attacks on Teachers
Sources indicate this is not the first time such an incident has occurred. Reports suggest that even minor disciplinary actions, such as confiscating student mobile phones, have in the past triggered retaliation, with some students allegedly inviting outsiders to attack teachers.
Police Involvement and Medical Attention
The case has been reported to the Adenta Police Station. Police reportedly directed the injured teachers to seek medical attention at a hospital.
After receiving treatment, victims reportedly returned to the police station to continue the case process. However, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer assigned to the case was reportedly unavailable at the time.
Calls for Improved School Security
The incident has raised fresh concerns about safety in Ghanaian schools, especially regarding external interference and violence against teachers. Education stakeholders are expected to call for stronger security measures and stricter enforcement of school protection policies.
