Police Sergeant, SHS Matron Nabbed Over Alleged Food Theft at Wovenu SHS

Three individuals, including a matron of Wovenu Senior High School in Tadzewu and a police officer, have been arrested for allegedly diverting food items intended for students of the school.

The suspects were apprehended at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, in an operation led by the Assembly Member for the area, Meli Atipoe, together with some community members.

According to sources, the suspects were intercepted while transporting several bags of rice, cartons of tinned tomatoes, tinned fish, and gallons of cooking oil believed to be part of the school’s food stock.

Reports indicate that the vehicle used to transport the items was driven by a Police Sergeant stationed in Ho. The officer is said to be a close associate and boyfriend of the matron’s sister, according to sources familiar with the matter.
