A police officer from the Ashanti South Police Command has been identified as the person who died after falling into an abandoned mine under the operational control of Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd. in the Amansie District of the Ashanti region.
According to management of the huge mining company, the sad tragedy took place on Monday, April 3, 2023, in the evening.

The officer was part of a group of officers sent to carry out an unexplained police security operation inside the Asanko Gold Ghana Plc mining firm’s location, according to a police source.
He regrettably fell into a large pit filled with standing water.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command and the management of the Asanko mining company, situated in Manso, are anticipated to release comprehensive details on the death of the on-duty police officer.
