In a shocking turn of events, twenty students from Salaga Senior High School in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region have been arrested by the Police following a violent altercation that resulted in a free-for-all fight.
The disturbing incident, which occurred on school grounds, saw one student suffering multiple stab wounds, sustaining injuries of varying degrees.
The clash reportedly escalated in the heat of the moment, leading to violent physical confrontations. Authorities also seized a locally manufactured pistol along with a single round of ammunition, adding to the severity of the situation.
The involvement of a firearm in the scuffle has raised concerns over security and discipline within the school.
School officials have expressed their deep disappointment over the incident. A representative from the school conveyed their strong condemnation of the actions of the students. “We have handed them over to the Police and hope they screen them thoroughly.
Those found culpable should face the full rigors of the law. We are disappointed in the actions of the students,” the official said.

The police have commenced the process of interrogating the students involved. Of the 20 students detained, 17 have been granted bail, while the remaining three are still in custody.
