OSSEC Female Student Allegedly Gang-Raped During Koforidua Interschools Sports Competition

A female student of Osino Presby Senior High Technical School (OSSEC) has allegedly been gang-raped during an interschools sports competition held in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
Reports indicate that the victim was later found in a visibly weak condition and was transported on a pragya motorbike to the police station before being referred to the Eastern Regional Hospital for medical treatment.
The incident reportedly occurred at a location some distance away from the Koforidua Sports Stadium, where the finals of the interschools sports competition were being held on Friday, February 6.
The alleged assault occurred at the same time violent clashes broke out between students of Pope John Senior High School and Seminary School.

Eyewitness accounts suggest students threw stones at each other, causing panic and disrupting activities at the venue. Police officers were forced to intervene quickly to restore order and prevent the situation from escalating further.
The developments come barely 24 hours after another violent incident involving students in the municipality. A final-year student of Koforidua Senior High Technical School (SECTECH) was allegedly stabbed in the shoulder and back during a separate confrontation. The suspect in that case is believed to be a student of New Juaben Senior High School.
The injured SECTECH student has since been admitted to hospital and is reported to have undergone surgery.
Police have launched investigations into both incidents as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the cases.
