NTC Issues New Guidelines for Teachers to Update Their Profiles on the Teachers Portal

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has issued an important notice to all teachers across Ghana, urging them to update their professional profiles on the NTC Teachers Portal. The update, according to the Council, is a mandatory exercise aimed at ensuring that every teacher’s information on the portal reflects accurate and up-to-date records.
Teachers are advised to carefully read all the instructions before proceeding with the update through the official NTC Teachers Portal link: https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh/account/login.
Step-by-Step Guide for the Update
According to the directive, teachers are to log in to the portal and go to the Profile section to verify their Date of Birth (DOB). If the DOB is incorrect, they are required to update it with valid supporting documents. However, teachers whose information is already accurate are cautioned not to make any changes.
The next section, labelled Public Teacher Information, contains several mandatory and optional areas that teachers must update depending on their role and qualifications.
Mandatory Sections
- Role Classroom – This section applies to Administrators and Headteachers, who are required to upload their Headship Appointment Letters.
- Role Class Level – All classroom teachers must upload their Professional Teaching Certificates such as Degree in Education, Diploma in Education, or Certificate ‘A’.
- Role Major Subject – Teachers at the JHS and SHS levels are to upload their highest academic qualifications, such as a Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Diploma certificate.

- Date of Birth – Upload a Birth Certificate or Ghana Card as proof.
Required Documents for Upload
Teachers are advised to have the following documents ready before starting the process:
- Highest Professional Certificate
- Highest Academic Qualification
- Headship Appointment Letter (for Administrators)
- Promotion Letter or Payslip
- Birth Certificate or Ghana Card
Technical Reminder
For smooth access, teachers are encouraged to use Google Chrome or Safari as their default browser when logging in to the portal.
The NTC reiterated that the accuracy of information on the portal is critical for teacher verification, professional development tracking, and licensing renewal processes. Teachers are therefore urged to comply fully with these instructions to avoid any inconveniences in future NTC-related services.
