Man, 50, killed in gas explosion at Suame Magazine

In the Ashanti Region’s Suame Magazine, a 50-year-old carbide welder lost his life late on Monday when a gas cylinder burst and tore apart his body.

Information received indicates that the deceased, Kwabena Afriyie, was an Offinso native. He was working on a car when the liquid oxygen cylinder exploded, killing him. Witnesses report that the incident happened on Monday, March 25, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Mr. Saani Abubarkar, an eyewitness, revealed that the deceased passed away right away following the incident.
He disclosed that following the explosion, the deceased’s body had been disfigured.

The cops have transported the dismembered corpse parts to the morgue.
