Messi’s most recent record was added during Inter Miami’s thrilling 4-0 League Cup triumph over Atlanta United, where he displayed his talent by scoring two spectacular goals.

Notably, the second goal from that game, which received an astounding 3.4 billion internet views, cemented its place in history by becoming the most watched live event in American history.

The number of goals scored in a calendar year is possibly one of Messi’s most important records. When the Argentine maestro scored an astonishing 86 goals in the year 2012, a performance that seems almost hard to top, he enchanted both supporters and opponents.

With nine records, Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar round out the top five footballers on the Guinness World Records list, but Messi remains the undisputed king at the top.
