Kade Senior High School Teacher Reportedly Attacked by Students Over Enforcement of Discipline

A disturbing incident has been reported at Kade Senior High School in the Eastern Region, where a teacher was allegedly ambushed and assaulted by some students following the enforcement of strict disciplinary measures on campus.

According to preliminary information, the teacher had recently intensified efforts to restore order and curb rising indiscipline among students. His firm approach, however, appears to have angered a section of the student body, culminating in the unexpected attack.

Sources indicate that the students targeted the teacher after school hours, confronting him over rules they perceived as “too strict.” The confrontation reportedly escalated into physical assault, leaving the teacher injured.

School authorities are said to be investigating the matter, while efforts are underway to identify all students involved in the attack. The incident has sparked conversations about the growing challenge of maintaining discipline in some senior high schools, as well as the safety of teachers who enforce school regulations.

Education stakeholders are calling for swift action, stressing that such acts of lawlessness must not be tolerated in any educational environment. Many have urged the Ghana Education Service (GES) to step in, ensure justice is served, and introduce measures to protect teachers across the country.

The incident has also reignited discussions on the need for stronger guidance and counselling units, community involvement in shaping student behaviour, and clearer communication between school staff and learners regarding disciplinary expectations.

As investigations continue, concerned parents, teachers, and community members are hoping for a swift resolution to prevent such incidents from recurring and to restore a safe, conducive learning atmosphere at Kade Senior High School.
