Headmistress of O’Reilly SHS reportedly flees after deceased student family became enraged during meeting
On Wednesday, Nadia Lartechoe Annan, the headmistress of O’Reilly Senior High School (SHS), reportedly fled a meeting after the tragic death of a final-year student led to chaos.
The disruption occurred during a meeting between the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the family of the deceased, Edward Sackey.
Edward, an 18-year-old General Arts student, was fatally stabbed by a classmate from the Visual Arts Department on Monday, September 2.
Despite the presence of the Chief of Okpoi Gonno, Nii Okpoi Gonno Twerebour IV, the meeting, which was intended to be orderly, descended into confusion.

According to Adom News’ Prince Owusu Asiedu, who was on the scene, tensions escalated when grieving family members accused the school management of failing to address the tragic incident adequately.
The family, visibly enraged, began shouting, prompting the headmistress to leave the meeting to avoid further escalation.
The family, who had previously accused the school of negligence, demanded explanations for the lack of detailed information.
One outraged sister questioned whether the suspect had been interrogated following the incident, asking why there was no update. Another family member expressed frustration, stating, “This is not the first time. The school is made up of people, not animals, so they must thoroughly investigate the matter.”
