GES Suspends PTA Guidelines and School Levies with Immediate Effect

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed all schools to immediately suspend the implementation of the recently issued Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Guidelines, including the collection of any levies from parents or guardians.
In a letter signed by Dr. Munawaru Issahque, Acting Deputy Director-General (Quality & Accountability), the Service instructed that all Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools, as well as their PTAs, must refrain from collecting any fees outlined in the guidelines until further notice.
The suspension is effective immediately and compliance is mandatory.

Regional and District Directors of Education have been tasked to ensure that this directive reaches all schools under their jurisdiction and to prevent any violations while awaiting further instructions from GES management.
The GES emphasized the urgency and importance of adherence to the directive, signaling a temporary pause in the rollout of the PTA regulations.
This move comes as part of the Service’s ongoing efforts to review and ensure that school policies align with the interests of students, parents, and educational standards nationwide.
For further information, GES has directed stakeholders to contact their regional or district offices.
