GES Opens Promotion Application for Lower Ranks – Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Eligible

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the opening of applications for lower ranks promotion for both teaching and non-teaching staff. This opportunity is specifically targeted at staff who were appointed or promoted on or before the year 2020.

In a circular dated June 10, 2025, and signed by Amatus A. Tug-Uu, District Director of Education for Wa West, GES invites applications from eligible personnel for consideration into the following ranks:

For Teaching Staff:

Superintendent I

Senior Superintendent II

Senior Superintendent I

Applicants are required to submit an application letter accompanied by the following documents:

Last promotion or appointment letter

Recommendation letter from the applicant’s headteacher

Current payslip

Confirmation letter

For Non-Teaching Staff:

Non-teaching personnel who were promoted to various lower ranks on or before 2020 are also eligible and encouraged to apply.

Submission Guidelines:

All completed application forms are to be submitted to the District Education Office registry no later than 30th June 2025. Each applicant must submit three (3) sets of the application forms for compilation purposes.

This move is part of GES’s efforts to ensure fairness and timely career progression within the service, particularly for staff who have remained on the same rank for an extended period.
