GES Opens Nominations for Teachers as Master Trainers for National CPD Day on Cybersecurity and Data Protection

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed all Regional and District Directors of Education to nominate selected officers and teachers to serve as Master Trainers for the upcoming National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Day, scheduled for Friday, 7th November, 2025.

In an official circular dated 29th October 2025, signed by Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, and issued on behalf of the Ag. Director-General, the Service announced that this year’s CPD Day will focus on the theme: “Cyber Security and Data Protection.”

According to the directive, the exercise aims to equip teachers across the country with the necessary digital safety skills to protect themselves, their students, and school data in an increasingly digital education environment.

To ensure a smooth rollout of the training, GES has outlined a structured nomination and training process:

  1. Regional Directors are to nominate one ICT officer who is a teacher from each Regional Education Office.
  2. District Directors are also to nominate one ICT officer who is a teacher from each District Education Office.
  3. In collaboration with District Directors, Regional Directors are to select three ICT teachers from second-cycle institutions within each district.
  4. Furthermore, Regional and District Directors are to work with heads of schools to nominate:
    • One teacher from each Pre-Secondary school, and
    • Two teachers from each Senior High School (SHS) using the provided online nomination portals.
  5. All nominations are to be submitted via the links https://master-trainers.onrender.com and https://secondary-trainers.onrender.com no later than Friday, 31st October 2025.

The training of nominated Master Trainers will take place on Monday, 3rd November 2025, while the training for nominated Pre-Secondary and Senior High School teachers will follow on Wednesday, 5th November 2025.

Regional Directors have been urged to ensure that the directive is communicated promptly to all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education for strict compliance, given the limited timeframe.

The GES emphasized the urgency of the matter, noting that cybersecurity awareness among teachers is now a national priority as part of efforts to build a secure, informed, and digitally competent teaching workforce.
