GES Approves 2025 Education Week Celebration for Presbyterian Schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has granted approval to the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to organize its 2025 Education Week Celebration across all its schools and congregations nationwide.
In a letter dated 2nd October 2025 and signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi (Mrs.), Acting Deputy Director-General (MS) on behalf of the Acting Director-General of GES, management acknowledged receipt of the Church’s request and confirmed its approval for the event.
The Education Week celebration is scheduled to take place from Monday, 6th October to Sunday, 12th October 2025.
This year’s theme is: “Celebrating Our Heritage: Persisting in Mission – The Role of Leadership in Our Schools.”

GES emphasized that the event provides an excellent opportunity to recognize the Presbyterian Church’s contributions to education in Ghana, celebrate its accomplishments, and reflect on its ongoing mission in shaping future generations.
The approval letter was also copied to the Acting Director-General of GES Headquarters, the Acting Deputy Director-General (Q&A), and the Director of Administration at the GES Headquarters in Accra, highlighting the importance of the event within the national education framework.
The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has played a pivotal role in the development of Ghana’s education system since the establishment of its first schools in the 19th century. The upcoming celebration is expected to further strengthen the bond between the Church and the national education system while highlighting the role of leadership in sustaining academic excellence and moral values.
