The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially declared vacancies for three key education management positions within the Akuapem North Municipality, inviting applications from suitably qualified and serving professional teachers.
The announcement, dated 3rd February 2026, forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen educational leadership, human resource management, and student support systems within the municipality.
Vacant Positions
The available positions include:
- Deputy Director, Human Resource Management and Development
- Guidance and Counselling Co-ordinator
- Physical Education Co-ordinator
Qualification Requirements
Deputy Director – Human Resource Management and Development
Applicants must:
- Be a Deputy Director with at least three years’ experience at the rank
- Possess a Master’s Degree in Education or HRMD (an added advantage)
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
- Have at least four years remaining before retirement
- Possess good ICT skills
- Have a satisfactory work history with GES
Guidance and Counselling Co-ordinator
Applicants must:
- Be a professional teacher
- Be at least Assistant Director II with not less than three years’ experience at the rank
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counselling
- Be computer literate
- Have a satisfactory work history with GES
- Have at least four years remaining before retirement

Physical Education Co-ordinator
Applicants must:
- Be a professional teacher
- Be at least Assistant Director II with not less than three years’ experience
- Hold at least a Bachelor of Education in Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER)
- Be computer literate
- Have a satisfactory work history with GES
Mode of Application
Interested applicants are required to submit three copies of completed application forms, which can be obtained from the Municipal Education Office. Completed applications must be submitted to the Municipal Education Office, Akropong-Akuapem, not later than 20th February 2026.

Applicants must attach:
- Three copies of Performance Appraisal forms from their Supervising Heads
- Three copies of Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Three copies of last promotion letter
- Three copies of Higher Academic/Professional Certificates
- Three copies of completed Personal Record forms signed by the Head of Department
GES emphasized that late submissions will not be accepted. The declaration was signed by Mr. Lawrence Dzah, Municipal Director of Education, Akuapem North.
