Earlier, false rumours claimed that Atsu had been rescued and sent to the hospital with respiratory problems and a right foot injury. Atsu’s teammate Kerim Alici, however, denied that the winger had been located in a post on his Instagram account.

Then, according to a tweet from Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Hatayspor manager Mustafa zat had verified that Atsu and the team’s sporting director Taner Savut were still trapped beneath the debris.

Today, Saturday, February 18, 2023, Chelsea displayed the image of Atsu on its screens at the Stamford Bridge Stadium throughout their game.
