Breman Asikuma SHS Students Allegedly Expelled Over Viral Smooching Video

Two students of Breman Asikuma Senior High School in the Central Region have reportedly been expelled following the circulation of a video showing them smooching on campus, a development that has sparked widespread public debate about morality and student relationships in Ghanaian schools.

The video, which has since gone viral on social media platforms, is said to feature the two students engaging in intimate behaviour within the school environment. The identity of the person who recorded and leaked the footage remains unknown.

Breman Asikuma Senior High School is located in Breman Asikuma, a town in the Asikuma/Odoben/Brakwa District of the Central Region. The incident has attracted significant attention, with many Ghanaians expressing mixed reactions, some condemning the students’ conduct as inappropriate for a school setting, while others have raised concerns about students’ privacy and the circumstances under which the video was recorded and shared.

According to unconfirmed reports, school authorities have taken disciplinary action by expelling the two students involved. However, as at the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued by the management of Breman Asikuma SHS to confirm the expulsions or provide details on the disciplinary measures taken.

Similarly, the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) are yet to comment publicly on the matter, leaving room for speculation and ongoing public discussion.

The incident has reignited national conversations on student discipline, moral education, supervision in schools, and the growing influence of social media on student behaviour. Education stakeholders are calling for clearer guidelines on handling such incidents, as well as enhanced guidance and counselling services to help students navigate relationships responsibly.

Further updates are expected as school authorities and education regulators respond to the issue.
