After earning GH500K in sports betting, Pastor resigns and closes church

A Ugandan pastor who won more than GH 500,000 through sports betting has given up on managing the church.

He realised he was now 100 million shillings richer and locked down the building, leaving his congregation members stranded when they arrived for midweek worship, according to local media.

Visitors from the church were frightened and confused of what to do when they realised the gate was shut.

When the pastor was approached, he said that he had only chosen to labour in God’s vineyard because he needed money and not because he felt called or touched by the spirit of God.
