AFCON 2025 qualifying draw: Kwesi Appiah reacts as Sudan and Ghana are placed in Group F
James Kwesi Appiah, the coach of Sudan, has expressed optimism that his team will join the Black Stars in qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
This happened after the qualifying round draw on Thursday. South Africa’s Johannesburg hosted the draw. Group F included Sudan, Angola, and Niger, all represented by Kwesi Appiah, along with Ghana.
In response to the draw, the former coach and captain of the Black Stars declared that football no longer has minnows, and he expressed his hope that the Falcons of Jediane would join the four-time champions in qualifying.

“I’ve always said there are no minnows in football now,” he said in an interview with Onua Sports immediately after the draw.
“It is really important that any team you meet, you prepare very well a d make sure you have the right team to try and win the day.
“Personally, I also think and hope Ghana and Sudan qualify in the group.
“For now I think that is what I can say and I wish both teams the best.”
