Access Bank support GES to donate 20,000 sandals to learners

The Ghana Education Service, with support from Access Bank, celebrated its annual ‘My First Day at School’ event on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, at the Kroma Cluster of Schools in Nungua to welcome children who enrol in KG for the first time and those who join the mainstream school system at Basic One.

During the ‘My First Day at School’ celebration, the second phase of the “Sandal More for A Better Tomorrow” project was also launched in collaboration with Access Bank to provide over 20,000 learners with comfortable sandals nationwide.

Representing the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Apostle Dr Christian Koramoah, the Financial Controller of the Ghana Education Service, applauded the leadership of Access Bank for collaborating with the GES to promote access to quality education through the “Sandal More for A Better Tomorrow” project.

On behalf of GES, Dr Koramoah donated school supplies to the new learners and welcomed teachers, new learners, and continuing students back to school and encouraged them to make the best use of the new academic year.
