Youth Violence Erupts in Kpandai: Fulani Chief’s Palace Vandalized, Vehicles Burned

Tensions escalated to violence in Kpandai as a group of local youths attacked and vandalized the palace of the Fulani chief in their community. The youths set fire to a tricycle and a motorbike in retaliation for an ambush and robbery incident involving a local young man.

The conflict was triggered when a young motorcyclist from Kpandai was ambushed by men suspected to be Fulanis while riding his motorbike. The assailants left the young man seriously injured and stole his motorbike. Following the attack, the injured victim managed to provide directions that led locals to the Fulani chief’s palace, where the stolen motorbike was allegedly found.

In response to the discovery, outraged youths gathered and descended upon the palace, causing significant damage to the property and setting both a tricycle and a motorbike ablaze. The community’s frustration and anger were palpable as they sought immediate retribution for the attack on one of their own.

The injured young man was initially treated at the Kpandai Poly-clinic before being referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for more advanced medical care due to the severity of his injuries.
