Teachers Union of Ghana warn Teachers nationwide to boycott NTC activities

The Teachers Union of Ghana (TUG) as at today Wednesday, October 12, 2022 has released an official letter with reference number; tug/t/20, signed by the general secretary; Wunnam Africanus informing all teachers across Ghana to boycott any activity by the National Teaching Council (NTC).
This comes as a result of teachers paying money to attend workshops in order to build CPD points.

“We write to appeal to all Ghanaian teachers to remain calm and to boycott all activities that are organized or caused to be organized by the National Teaching Council (NTC) and their affiliate mercenaries who are barreling all over the place in a flawed public facade mask of organizing training workshops. The current CPD point building workshops are meant to flimflam the teacher out of his hard earned money. No teacher is required to pay any money to any business man/woman in the name of accumulating points. We are at the very bottom of the public sector remuneration ladder and should not allow ourselves to be swindled off our meagre pay. We hereby call on all Ghanaian teachers to refrain, avoid and shun all activities associated with NTC/CPD points building schemes. Do not abandon your classrooms for any training which is not organized by the Ghana Education Service (GES).” It said in a statement
