Tatale SHS Storekeeper Accused of Attempted Food Theft After Students’ Ambush
A storekeeper at Tatale Senior High School in Ghana’s Northern Region is at the center of controversy following allegations that he attempted to steal foodstuffs from the school’s stores.
The incident, which occurred in the Tatale area, gained widespread public attention after a video surfaced online showing the storekeeper holding food items while a group of students confronted him, shouting accusations.
According to reports, the students had grown suspicious over the consistent disappearance of food supplies from the school’s storage facility. Acting on their concerns, they reportedly organized an ambush to catch the culprit in the act.
Sources indicate that the storekeeper, together with another unidentified individual, was allegedly in the process of removing the food items when the students intercepted them. In the ensuing confrontation, the storekeeper is said to have fled the scene after the students raised an alarm, leaving his alleged accomplice behind.

“When the students shouted, the storekeeper ran away, leaving the other man behind,” a source familiar with the situation revealed.
The incident has since been reported to the Northern Regional Director of Education, who has ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter.
Authorities at Tatale Senior High School have confirmed the development, stating that the case is currently under investigation and that appropriate actions will be taken once findings are concluded.
The development has sparked concerns about accountability and security within school supply chains, particularly in public second-cycle institutions where government-provided food is critical for student welfare.
