Savannah Regional Education Directorate Requests Data on Diploma and Degree Holders

The Savannah Regional Education Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a directive to all Municipal and District Directors of Education in the region, requesting comprehensive data on diploma-holding teaching staff. This exercise is aimed at supporting management’s efforts to improve staff welfare.

In a letter dated February 8, 2025, signed by Hajia Katumi Natogmah Attah, the Regional Director of Education, district offices have been instructed to gather detailed information on teaching staff according to specified categories. The categories include:

  1. GES Diploma Holders Not Pursuing a Degree
  2. GES Diploma Holders Currently Pursuing a Degree
  3. GES Diploma Holders Who Have Completed a Degree

The letter emphasizes the urgency of this data collection, requesting district offices to submit the collated information to the Regional Human Resource Officer via WhatsApp by February 10, 2025.

This initiative underscores the Ghana Education Service’s commitment to enhancing staff management and promoting professional development. The data gathered is expected to help inform policy decisions regarding staff progression and welfare improvements.

Municipal and district directors have been urged to cooperate fully to ensure the successful completion of the exercise.
