President Akuffo Addo appoints a new Director-General of the Ghana Education Service

Referencing the letter with reference number; OPS127/22/1038 from the Office of the President following the sacking of the former Director General of Education-Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwaa, the President on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in a letter with reference number; OPS101/1/22/1041, signed by Nana Bediatuo Asante-Secretary to the President, appointed Eric Ansah (PhD) as the acting Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

“Pursuant to section 19 (1), (2) (a) of the Pre-Tertiary Education Act, 2020 (Act 1049), I am pleased to inform you that the President has appointed you to act as the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (the “service”) pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing Council of the Service, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission. Your appointment is effective 19th October, 2022. I take this opportunity to congratulate you formally on your appointment. Kindly indicate your acceptance or otherwise of this appointment, within 14 days of receipt of this letter. Please accept the President’s best wishes.” The letter read.
