Police dispatch rider loses his life in an accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway

Police dispatcher Rauf Iddrisu is said to have perished in a collision on the Accra-Kumasi motorway on March 3, 2023.

The Kia Grandbird VIP bus and his Honda motorcycle collided near Osino in the Eastern Region, according to the police.

At the time of the accident, Rauf Iddrisu, also known by his close friends as Mando, was escorting a convoy from Accra to Kumasi. “On 03/03/2023 at approximately 3:30 pm, suspect driver Samuel Boateng age 44 years was in charge of a Kia Grandbird VIP bus with Passengers on board travelling from Kumasi towards Accra.

When he arrived at a stretch of the Accra-Kumasi motorway near the Osino Police station, he neglected to pay attention to traffic in front of him. A police situational report (SITREP) indicated that during the course of the incident, No. 49200 Rauf Iddrisu from Headquarters Transport, who was riding Honda motorbike No. GP 4710 and leading a convoy from Accra towards Kumasi direction, crashed head-on.

The body has been placed in the mortuary of the Enyiresi Government Hospital.
