NTC Announces Award Categories and Deadline for 2025 Ghana Teacher Prize

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has officially opened nominations and applications for the 2025 edition of the Ghana Teacher Prize (GTP), an annual event aimed at recognizing and celebrating exceptional contributions to education in Ghana.

In a letter dated 3rd April 2025 and addressed to the Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), the NTC outlined the various award categories available for this year’s prize. The categories include:

  • Teaching
  • Teacher in Administration and Leadership
  • Non-Teaching
  • Best Teacher Educator

According to the Registrar of NTC, Dr. Christian Addai-Poku, interested applicants can submit their applications online via the official link: https://ntc.gov.gh/gtp-2025. All applicants are strongly advised to carefully review the attached selection criteria and ensure strict compliance before completing their application.

The deadline for submission is 10th June 2025, and the NTC has urged all teacher education institutions to disseminate this information to their lecturers and staff. The council has also copied relevant stakeholders, including the Presidents of CETAG, PRINCOF, and UTAG, to ensure widespread awareness and participation.
