Man who entices ladies to hotels with the promise of getting them Jobs and then rapes them apprehended by the Police

Joseph Godfrey, 50, has been apprehended by the Operatives of SWAT Bayelsa State Police Command for allegedly luring unsuspecting female job-seekers to hotels and sexually assaulting them.

According to a statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Asinim Butswat, the suspect usually disguise himself as a staff of Government House, Yenagoa and lured his victims with the promise of job opportunities and employment.

Butswat stated that the suspect ran out of luck on 10th October 2022 at about 1300 hours, when one of the girls raised alarm and he was arrested at Opolo, Yenagoa.

He said the suspect is being interrogated by Police operatives while investigation is ongoing.

The hardship in the country is making people resort to dubious means by taking advantage of others with the intention of helping them. Females are the most vulnerable following the recent kidnappings in the country.
