Islamic SHS and Sakafia SHS Students Share Videos of Alleged Fortifications Ahead of Feared Inter-School Clash
Students of Islamic Senior High School and Sakafia Islamic Senior High School, both located in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, have sparked public concern after videos circulating on social media showed what are purported to be fortifications and preparations ahead of an alleged inter-school clash.
In the widely shared videos, groups of students believed to be from the two Islamic senior high schools are seen displaying items and structures described by online commentators as “fortifications,” suggesting readiness for a possible confrontation. The videos, which have gone viral on platforms such as WhatsApp, TikTok, and Facebook, have triggered anxiety among parents, residents, and education stakeholders.
Although the exact motive behind the alleged preparations remains unclear, the development has raised fears of a potential violent clash between the two schools, both of which have long-standing reputations as prominent Islamic educational institutions in Kumasi.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the management of Islamic Senior High School nor Sakafia Islamic Senior High School has officially commented on the authenticity of the videos or confirmed the existence of any planned confrontation.

Similarly, the Ghana Education Service (GES) and security agencies in the Ashanti Region are yet to issue formal statements on the matter.
Education analysts and child rights advocates have, however, called for swift intervention by school authorities, the GES, religious leaders, and security agencies to de-escalate tensions and prevent any possible outbreak of violence. They stress the need for dialogue, effective supervision, and strict enforcement of school discipline to safeguard students and maintain peace.
Parents have also been urged to engage their wards and discourage the spread of inflammatory content on social media, noting that such videos can fuel fear, misinformation, and unnecessary panic.
The situation continues to attract attention as the public awaits official clarification and decisive action from the relevant authorities to ensure calm and protect lives and property.
