A Canadian not-for-profit organization called the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) offers an efficient method for IENs to submit their paperwork and gives them the resources they need to apply for the registration as healthcare workers/nurses in Canada.

The NNAS serve nurses who have received their nursing education outside of Canada. They acknowledge the important contributions that IENs have made to Canadian society and healthcare and are trying to make the application process more efficient and open to IENs.

You must submit an application to NNAS if you are an Internationally Registered Nurse (IEN) and want to practice nursing in Canada.  As a Registered Nurse (RN), a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you may apply for a license in the Canadian province of your choice.
