GNAT Opens Recruitment for Key Positions

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has announced vacancies for highly qualified professionals to fill critical roles within the association’s headquarters in Accra. The call for applications, published in the Daily Graphic of Tuesday, September 23, 2025, highlights GNAT’s commitment to strengthening its operations by recruiting skilled individuals with strong leadership qualities and expertise in their respective fields.

Available Positions

  1. Head, Public Affairs
    • Reports to: General Secretary
    • Qualification: A Master’s degree in Communications, Public Policy, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, or a related field, with at least 10 years of progressive experience in a public affairs or communications role.
    • Age requirement: Applicants must not be above 55 years.
    • Key skills: Excellent oral and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, and proficiency in handling high-stakes communication.
    • Job description:
      • Oversee GNAT’s Strategic Communication Plan.
      • Manage media relations, press releases, newsletters, and in-house publications.
      • Supervise communication officers.
      • Provide timely reports to management.
  2. Assistant Head, Assets, Estate and Procurement
    • Reports to: Head, Finance & Investment
    • Qualification: A Master’s degree in Architecture, Estate Management, Building Technology, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management. At least 10 years of experience, including 5 years in senior management.
    • Job location: GNAT Headquarters, Adabraka, Accra.
    • Key skills: Strong negotiation, analytical and leadership skills, knowledge in facility management, and ability to monitor procurement and asset utilization.
    • Job description:
      • Develop and implement asset management and procurement policies.
      • Supervise estate maintenance and facilities management.
      • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and GNAT policies.

3. Senior Internal Audit Assistant

  • Reports to: Head, Internal Audit
  • Qualification: A professional qualification such as ICA, ACCA, or CIMA, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Age requirement: Must not be above 35 years, or 25 years with a Master’s degree.
  • Job description:
    • Assist in internal auditing of GNAT’s operations.
    • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
    • Provide accurate and timely audit reports to management.

  • Membership evidence with GNAT (for teaching professionals).
