GES Sacks KNUST SHS Assistant Headmaster Over Viral Scandal

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, from office following the circulation of a viral video on social media.

In the statement signed by Mr. Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, the Service said the video allegedly involved Mr. Aidoo in a compromised position with a female student. Management emphasized that it views the matter with “utmost seriousness” and has taken immediate steps to safeguard the integrity of the teaching profession and protect the welfare of students.

GES confirmed that Mr. Aidoo has not only been relieved of his duties but has also been prohibited from going to the school premises while investigations are ongoing.

The Service assured the public, parents, and stakeholders that due process will be followed and appropriate disciplinary measures taken in line with the code of conduct of the GES.

“GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of students,” the statement read.

This action comes as part of the Service’s broader efforts to maintain discipline and reinforce trust in Ghana’s educational system.
