GES Provides Update on Remaining Collective Agreement Negotiations with Teacher Unions

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced significant progress regarding the implementation of outstanding issues in the Collective Agreement with teacher unions.

In a letter dated 30th September 2024, addressed to all regional directors, the GES management disclosed that a meeting took place on the same date between the Minister of Education and the leadership of the teacher unions.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the remaining items under the Collective Agreement for implementation and resolve other ongoing concerns.

According to the letter signed by Stephen Kwaku Owusu, Deputy Director-General (MS) for the Director-General, there has been constructive progress towards an understanding between the Ministry of Education, the GES, and the unions.

As the negotiations continue, regional directors have been instructed to inform their respective Metro, Municipal, and District Directors of Education.
