GES Moves to Clear Outstanding 2024 Recruitment Salaries by November 2025

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that it is taking decisive steps to ensure that all staff recruited in 2024 who have not yet been paid will receive their salaries by the end of November 2025.
In an official circular dated 20th October 2025, and signed by Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, the Acting Director-General of GES, management disclosed that Cabinet has granted approval for the extension of the financial clearance originally issued in 2024. This extension, according to the statement, is to allow the Service to process and pay all outstanding salaries of newly recruited staff.
The directive, addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, emphasized that the extension will cover both validated staff who already have staff IDs but remain unpaid, as well as those without staff IDs, including graduates from Colleges of Education, university graduates, and non-teaching staff whose details are yet to be generated.

GES has therefore directed Regional Directors to compile and submit all required documents of affected staff to the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Secretariat at GES Headquarters by close of day, Wednesday, 22nd October 2025. The management stressed that this directive must be treated as urgent and strictly complied with to ensure timely payment.
“This extension is intended to ensure that all unpaid recruited staff in 2024 are duly mechanised and paid by the end of November 2025,” the letter stated.
Management of GES expressed appreciation to all Regional Directors for their continued cooperation and urged them to expedite the process to ensure a smooth and timely completion of the salary mechanisation exercise.
This development comes as welcome news to hundreds of teachers and non-teaching staff who have endured long months without pay despite being officially recruited in 2024.
