GES Facebook Page Inaccessible: Daniel Fenyi Reveals Password Withheld by Former PRO

Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has revealed that the Service currently has no access to its official Facebook page due to the refusal of the former Public Relations Officer to hand over the login credentials.

The revelation came in response to a suggestion by a fellow PRO who urged the team to keep the page updated with current activities and news about the GES. In a response, Daniel Fenyi stated:

“In fact, frankly, your former boss, Cassandra Twum Ampofo says she won’t hand over the social media passwords to us. She says they’re for her. So I don’t have access, neither does anyone. Hope we get it as soon as possible.”

Mr. Fenyi added that he had not intended to speak publicly on the issue but decided to respond since the matter was raised.

The statement has sparked concern among education stakeholders and members of the public who rely on the official Facebook page of GES for credible and timely information. Many have expressed surprise that such a critical communication platform could be locked away due to unresolved administrative issues.

Cassandra Twum Ampofo, who served as the Head of Public Relations at GES, is yet to respond publicly to the claims.

This development raises broader questions about digital asset management and transition protocols within public institutions, especially during leadership changes. It remains unclear what steps GES leadership is taking to regain control of the page or whether a new official platform will be created in the interim.

Until the matter is resolved, updates from GES may continue to be limited to alternative channels, leaving a gap in public communication at a time when transparency and timely dissemination of information are critical to educational reforms and engagements.
