GES Announces Vacancies for Public Basic School Headteachers in New Juaben South
The Ghana Education Service (GES), through the New Juaben South Municipal Education Directorate, has announced vacancies for Public Basic School Headteacher positions and is inviting applications from qualified and interested serving officers within the Service.
A statement issued on 6th January, 2026, and signed by the Municipal Director of Education, Mustapha Haruna Appiah, said the vacancies are open to goal-oriented and result-driven teachers with strong leadership qualities who meet the required criteria.
According to the notice, applicants must be Graduate Professional Teachers or Officers and should hold the rank of Assistant Director I or above. In addition, candidates must have served in the New Juaben South Municipality for not less than five years and possess relevant knowledge related to the position being applied for.
The Directorate further stressed that applicants should have a satisfactory work record and conduct within the Ghana Education Service, demonstrate good communication skills, and have basic knowledge in computing, which is considered essential for effective school administration in the modern educational environment.

Interested applicants are required to submit an application letter with a contact number addressed to the Municipal Director of Education, New Juaben South, Koforidua, on or before 23rd January, 2026.
The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
- A completed Appraisal Form duly endorsed by the immediate supervisor
- A Personal Record Form endorsed by the immediate supervisor, with a passport-sized photograph attached
- A Confidential Report from the immediate supervisor
- True certified copies of academic and professional certificates
- A copy of the last promotion letter
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)
The statement emphasized that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
Copies of the vacancy notice have been forwarded to the Eastern Regional Director of Education, Regional Managers of Unit Schools in Koforidua, Frontlines, and SISOS at the New Juaben South Municipal Education Office.
The move forms part of GES’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and improve management at the basic school level within the municipality.
