Former JHS student allegedly subjected to military abuse battling for his life

Kwame Aidooo, a 19-year-old graduate of the Junior High School (JHS), is fighting for his life after being the victim of alleged military abuse in Gomoa Mprumen in the Central Region’s Gomoa West District.

According to reports, a spiritualist and three men wearing military uniform assaulted Kwame severely. He reportedly spent 10 days in a coma at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital as a result of the assault.

In an interview with Adom News, Kwame’s parents stated that the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital had referred their son. His father described the events that led to Kwame’s illness, saying that when he, his mother, and two siblings were preparing for senior high school (SHS), they were attacked by Malam Yaa Waduudu, a spiritualist headquartered in Gomoa Ankamu, as well as several guys wearing military gear.

The father claimed that it was related to a financial disagreement with the galamsey company they had in Kwaku-kwaa, also in the Central Region.

When the spiritualist and the aforementioned military officers discovered Aidoo’s father was not home, they brutalised them amid sporadic gunfire.

According to a witness, Vida Arthur, the horrifying scene prompted a pregnant renter into forced labour. Gifty Awuku, the victim’s mother, has demanded justice for her son while sobbing uncontrollably. Malam Yaa Wadudu, however, has refuted the accusations made against him after the incident was brought to the attention of the Apam District Police Command.
