CAGD Confirms Delay in Payment of Two Allowances for November Salaries

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced a delay in the payment of two categories of allowances scheduled to be paid in November 2025. The Department says the challenge was caused by a “technical hitch” encountered during the final payroll run.

In a press release dated 25th November 2025 and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Cephas N. Dosoo, the CAGD explained that the problem particularly affects workers in the education sector, though all affected government employees have been assured that the issue is being resolved.

According to the statement, the processing of the allowances had to be paused to prevent a further delay to regular November salary payments for all government workers.

The Department further assured workers that the outstanding allowances will be paid together with December 2025 salaries on 18th December 2025.

“We regret the inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate your patience,” the statement concluded.

The development has sparked mixed reactions among affected workers, particularly teachers, many of whom rely heavily on allowances to supplement their monthly income. Some education-sector unions are expected to respond in the coming days as they assess the situation and its implications for their members.
