Adidas and Real Madrid have launched a special jersey and shoe edition in honor of Ballon D’or winner Karim Benzema 

In congruence with Karim Benzema winning the ballan d’Or at the 66th edition of the annual Ballon d’Or ceremony, Adidas and the Spain-based club; Real Madrid popularly known as the White Angels, have launched a special jersey and shoe edition in honor of the French international and Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema.

The 66th annual ceremony of the 2022 Ballon d’Or presented by France football and recognising the best footballers in the world was held yesterday, October 17, 2022 in Paris at the Théâtre du Châtelet.

The Frenchman emerged the winner this year after Paris Saint Germain star player; Lionel Messi, won it last year. Karim becomes the first Frenchman to win the Ballon d’Or since Zidane won in 1998. The Frenchman had thirty-nine (39) goal contribution; that is, twenty-seven (27) goals and twelve (12)assists, and including winning both the Spanish league and the Champions league.

Through voting, The winners of the FIFA Ballon d’Or are  chosen by international journalists and the coaches and captains of the national teams under FIFA’s hegemony. His sterling performances last season caught the attention of international journalists, coaches, and captains of National teams who voted for him. He was just a pure joy to watch in the year under review. 

Sadio Mané finished second in the 2022 Ballon d’Or, only ranking behind unstoppable Karim Benzema. On Monday night, the 30 -year-old became the second African player to reach the podium of the prestigious trophy since George Weah’s triumph in 1995. Sadio Mané also won the maiden Socrates Award.

To celebrate Karim Benzema on his achievement, Adidas and Real Madrid have launched a special jersey and shoe edition in honor of Ballon D’or winner.
