2025 Reopening Dates for KG, Primary, JHS, Single and Double Track Schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released reopening dates for KG, Primary, JHS, Single and Double Track Schools for the 2025 academic year.

Below are the reopening and vacation dates for various categories of students, including KG, Primary, Junior High School (JHS), and Senior High School (SHS).

Reopening Date for KG, Primary, and JHS

Students in Kindergarten, Primary, and Junior High Schools are scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, 8th January, 2025.

Reopening Dates for Senior High Schools (Single Track Schools)

  1. New SHS 1 Students (BECE 2024 Graduates)
    Students admitted into SHS following the 2024 BECE results will return to school after the Christmas break on 3rd January, 2025, and vacate on 5th March, 2025.
  2. SHS 2 Students
    SHS 2 students will resume on 3rd January, 2025, and vacate on 5th March, 2025.
  3. SHS 3 Students
    Final-year students will also return on 3rd January, 2025, and vacate on 5th March, 2025.

Reopening Dates for SHS (Double Track Schools)

Transitional students in double-track SHS schools have the following schedule:

  1. SHS 1 Students
    SHS 1 students will resume on 3rd January, 2025, and vacate on 7th February, 2025.
  2. SHS 2 Students
    SHS 2 students will return to school on 10th February, 2025, and vacate on 23rd May, 2025.
  3. SHS 3 Students
    SHS 3 students will resume on 3rd January, 2025, and vacate on 16th April, 2025.
